Riverhead Raceway officials announced today some changes in the format for competitors who run the Enduro series at the quarter mile oval, for 2006. The cars and stars of the Enduro ranks will kick-off their 2006 season Sunday afternoon May 7th with a full card of action on tap.
    One change will affect each and every form of Enduro racing for 2006 as it was disclosed that drivers must sign-up four days prior to a race to remain at the $45 entry fee. Those who sign-up after the four day limit will have to pay $70 to race whether they sign-up at the track office less than four days to the race or at the track itself.
    In another announcement Bill Denniston disclosed the 4/6-Cylinder Truck Enduro teams will only have to undergo one inspection prior to racing in ’06. The teams can either be inspected at the pre-season inspection days at the track with those dates TBA or at the two pre-season practice days April 22nd and 29th. The Grand Enduros also utilize this format. Of course the post race inspection for the top finishers will remain in effect at every race.
    Also the Truck Enduro teams much like the Grand Enduro teams will be permitted to bring their trailers into the pits providing they signed-up prior to the four day limit. Any teams in either the Grand or Truck Enduro that sign-up late will not be allowed to bring their tow vehicles into the pits.
    As for the 8-Cylinder, 6-Cylinder and 4-Cylinder Enduro racers they all must be inspected before each and every race and are not permitted to bring tow vehicles into the pit area.
