WITH RIVERHEAD TRUCKS IN 2006
Golden
Auto Body of College Point will return to the Riverhead
Raceway Super Pro Trucks as a seasonal sponsor in 2006 it
was disclosed today in a joint announcement made by Charlie
Rizzo of Golden and track officials. The Super Pro Trucks
will be just one of six NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series divisions
in action opening night May 6th.
“We’re very happy to have Golden Auto Body returning
with the trucks in 2006” Bob Finan noted, “Charlie Rizzo has
been with us for five years now through both his Auto Tech
Diagnostic business along with Golden Auto Body”. Golden
Auto Body was founded in 1971 by Lenny Costa and was
operated by Larry “King” Costa until his untimely death in
2002. Rizzo purchased the business in January 2003 and
continues the high standards of the Costa family.
The Golden Auto Body night has been scheduled for
Saturday August 12th and they will also add purse money to
all feature events run by the tailgate brigade in the
upcoming season.
Lou Maestri of Deer Park will be seeking his third
consecutive SPT championship in 2006 and will face some
stiff competition in trying for the “three peat” Out to
dethrone Lou are last year’s runner-up Bobby Gardner of
Westbury, Dave Brigati of Calverton, Frank Dumicich Sr. and
Jr. of Mastic, Troy Ferdinando of Huntington and Mike
Albasini of Bayside.
Joining the Super Pro Trucks on the 2006 Riverhead
Raceway opening night card will be the NASCAR Modifieds,
Late Models, Figure Eights, Chargers and Blunderbusts.
Feature event racing will start at 6:00 pm.
