METRO PETERBILT BACK WITH
RIVERHEAD BLUNDERBUSTS
For the eighth consecutive season the
popular Blunderbust division of the NASCAR
Dodge Weekly Series at Riverhead Raceway
will be sponsored for the year by New York
Metro Peterbilt of Flushing, N.Y. and
Hauppauge, L.I. The 2006 season will mark
the 10th year overall New York Metro
Peterbilt has been a marketing partner at
Barbara and Jim Cromarty’s quarter mile
facility.
New York Metro Peterbilt will add prize
money weekly to the Blunderbust division
starting with the May 6th opening night
20-lap main event. Scott Maliszewski of Deer
Park will start his defense of the 2005
championship and among those looking to
wrestle the title away in 2006 will be Tommy
“Wildchild” Walkowiak, Wayne Okula, Artie
Pedersen Jr., Bill Wegmann, Dale Arnold and
Tom Sullivan.
Aside from the Blunderbusts the 2006
opening night program at Riverhead Raceway
will feature the NASCAR Modifieds, Late
Models, Figure Eights, Chargers and Super
Pro Trucks. Heat races will go green at 4:30
pm and the first main event of the new
campaign will hit the track at 6:00 pm.
Preceding the opening night will be the
two pre-season practice days on Saturday
afternoon April 22nd and April 29th from 12
noon until 5:00 pm featuring free grandstand
admission. Following the opening night for
the NASCAR stock cars the very next
afternoon the cars and stars of the
Riverhead Enduro Series will kick off their
year at 12 noon May 7th.
