2005 Blunderbust
Review
by J.A.
Ackley, "Professor"
Peter Milano
Well it's that time once again, with the season fast
approaching, the grade reports are rolling in! This year,
not only the Professor has his say, so does the Jam Man - J.A. Ackley.
In addition to the "Jam Panel of Performance Review," we
will give you, the fans, a chance to grade the competitors
as well.
1) Scott
Maliszewski
#22
Chevrolet
2005 Profile |
"The
Professor" Peter Milano, Pit Bull Reporter |
The man of a
thousand words, well at least at the tip of
his tongue. Scott walks away with the
championship with a "green" car! Not "green"
as inexperience but in car. A big "no, no"
as green is bad luck, but seems he might of
broken the hex by eating "peanuts"!!!
Great guy with a big heart and well
deserved... A+ |
J.A.
Ackley, Chief Director of LongIslandJam.com |
Maliszewski won the
championship through silently moving up the
field and etching a top 5 or at the very
least a top 10 in nearly every race.
His consistency won only one race, but won
the championship. He earned his
stripes this year.

2) Tommy
Walkowiak
#00 Unique Golf Shop Chevy
2005 Profile |
"The
Professor" Peter Milano, Pit Bull Reporter |
How Tommy
didn't walk away with the championship this
season comes down to one man! Himself!
Tommy had 7 wins in 16 races, 11 top 5's
while Scott had 9. Tommy was sent to the
back more then one occasion for rough riding
this past season. As the saying goes "He's
his own worst enemy!" But with 7 wins,
he still earns an A+ |
J.A.
Ackley, Chief Director of LongIslandJam.com |
Walkowiak has the best
equipment and quite a of talent which should
have earned him a championship easily.
However his lack of patience hurt him and
hurt his grade. A |

3) Wayne
Okula
#67 Pine Barrens Printing
Chevy
2005 Profile |
"The
Professor" Peter Milano, Pit Bull Reporter |
The big man
definitely had a big year. One of the best
appearing cars in the division had some big
runs with 2 wins and 12 top 10 finishes. He
needs to work on his top fives, which is
very difficult to do in this packed division
of hard chargers. A |
J.A.
Ackley, Chief Director of LongIslandJam.com |
Okula keeps on improving
year in, year out and this year he improved
his points finish to third, and earned his
first career victories. I am looking forward
to what 2006 may bring. A |

4) Artie
Pedersen, Jr.
#1 Sherwin Williams Chevy
2005 Profile |
"The
Professor" Peter Milano, Pit Bull Reporter |
Artie had
his most consistent season to date. Coming
home fourth in points, he had 10 top tens
and 3 top fives. The one thing that hurt
this season was not seeing the checkers.
B |
J.A.
Ackley, Chief Director of LongIslandJam.com |
It was surprising to see
Pedersen not earn a win by season's end,
because his car was so strong at times and
was in contention every week. Maybe
2006 will see him return to victory lane,
but without a win, he can't earn the A.

2005 Profile |
"The
Professor" Peter Milano, Pit Bull Reporter |
Dale Arnold
only started 13 races and came home fifth in
points!!! Dale had 3 huge wins to catapulted
himself to 5th, also having 9 top fives and
11 top tens helped him along the way. A |
J.A.
Ackley, Chief Director of LongIslandJam.com |
Arnold certainly looked
like a different driver this year,
contending for the win and certainly the
championship if it weren't for a few missed
races. Arnold is definitely a
contender for the 2006 championship,
provided he actually races all races. A |

6) Tom
Sullivan
#7 Custom Exteriors Lincoln
2005 Profile |
"The
Professor" Peter Milano, Pit Bull Reporter |
The big
Lincoln looked better then years previous
and had a huge cheering section when he won.
Sullivan looked good this year, and much
better than what's on paper. B |
J.A.
Ackley, Chief Director of LongIslandJam.com |
Sullivan is one of the
most laid back guys in the pits, often
relaxing after a rough night the previous
night. Racing is his R&R and his
relaxed style helped him earn some solid
consistency. A few bad nights hurt his
championship hunt, but Sullivan was
definitely the surprise of 2005. B+ |

7) Bill
Wegmann
#79 Crackerjack Auto Olds
2005 Profile |
"The
Professor" Peter Milano, Pit Bull Reporter |
Wegmann drives one of the
last big boats in the division. When
Wegmann was on, he was the one to beat, but
unfortunately I expected a little more from
Bill. 7th place is a bit of
disappointment for what Bill is capable of.
B |
J.A.
Ackley, Chief Director of LongIslandJam.com |
Another green car that
seems to go against common convention,
Wegmann looked stronger than he did in
points, and could have easily been in the
top three. If only he didn't have a
few bad finishes, as that's all it takes in
this competitive division. B |

8) Doug
Watson
#3 Prime Choice Chevy
2005 Profile |
"The
Professor" Peter Milano, Pit Bull Reporter |
Doug Watson
in his Earnhardt tribute car almost had a
win or two, but it seemed that he couldn't
get a break (or a lucky break that is).
C |
J.A.
Ackley, Chief Director of LongIslandJam.com |
This was the year to
forget for the Blunderbust veteran Watson.
The gold color and troublesome engine
program hindered Watson's efforts each and
every week. As the car faded to black
the car got stronger and hopefully 2006
presents a better year. As much as it
pains me... C |

9) Scott
Pedersen
#27 Chevrolet
2005 Profile |
"The
Professor" Peter Milano, Pit Bull Reporter |
Pedersen seemed he was
fully capable of win, but just would come
short each and every week. With 6 top
5's he had a strong car, but the 11 top 10's
hurt his championship chances. C+ |
J.A.
Ackley, Chief Director of LongIslandJam.com |
A few near wins and
plenty of top fives saved Pedersen from a
lower grade in my book. With some
consistency and luck next year, it's
possible to see Pedersen in victory lane
more than once and be the surprise candidate
for the championship. C+ |

10) Paul

2005 Profile |
"The
Professor" Peter Milano, Pit Bull Reporter |
How doesn't
Paul Parisi not have a win in the BBs? Seems
so close but falls apart midway into a race.

J.A.
Ackley, Chief Director of LongIslandJam.com |
If anyone is deserving of
a win, it's Parisi. The long time
Blunderbust competitor has been close, but
never took the checkers. Maybe 2006
will be the lucky year? C- |
