The rolling thunder of the Riverhead Raceway Late Model division takes center stage on the May 20th NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series with a 50-lap double point feature event. Also racing for double points on the night will be the Blunderbusts who’ll go 30 circuits on the six-division race program.
    Roger Oxee of Peconic comes to the 50-lap time trial event as the favorite off the strength of his first career championship in 2005.  He’s also the all time leading winner of main events in the class. Out to snatch the win away from Oxee as well as perhaps getting a leg up in the 2006 title chase will be Jarrod Hayes, Greg Kleila, Mike Mortimer, Dave Brigati, Scott Kulesa, Jack Orlando and Rob Tribuzio. The qualifying for the race will be done for the first 15-cars via time trials with the rest of the 20-car starting grid coming through a consolation race.
    The Blunderbust division will be geared up for the May 20th card as well, racing in a 30-lap feature event paying double points. Scott Maliszewski of Deer Park is out to capture his second Blunderbust crown in a row.  He’ll also have to contend with many challengers not just in 2006, but also in this first of three double point races on the season. Among Maliszewski’s strongest challengers will be Tommy Walkowiak, Dale Arnold, Wayne Okula, Artie Pedersen Jr., Tom Sullivan, Bill Wegmann, Doug Watson and Paul Parisi.
    Completing the six division NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series show are the NASCAR Modifieds, Figure Eights, Chargers and Super Pro Trucks. Late Model time trials will start qualifying off at 4:00 pm, with main event racing set for 6:00 pm.
