When popular Bill Wegmann of North Bellmore took the opening night checker flag in the 20-lap Blunderbust main event at Riverhead Raceway May 6th, it was a great way to start off his 10th season with sponsor Crackerjack Auto Supply.
    The soft-spoken Wegmann who admits to being “sixty-something” was elated with the win solely on the marketing level. “I want to dedicate my opening night win to Keith and the entire staff of Crackerjack Auto Supply” Bill noted.  “It’s just the icing on the cake that we start our 10th year together with a win, especially since they just expanded their operation to a new facility on Jerusalem Avenue in Uniondale.
    Wegmann has been a mainstay in Blunderbust competition at Riverhead Raceway for many seasons in his familiar #79 Oldsmobile with its green paint scheme with yellow graphics. Aside from winning numerous feature events over the seasons Bill remains very competitive and perhaps more importantly very well liked and respected by his fellow drivers in the rough and tumble class.
    Bill Wegmann’s quest for the 2006 Blunderbust title at Riverhead Raceway will continue every Saturday night at Riverhead Raceway throughout the summer.
