GO-KARTS TO JOIN RIVERHEAD STOCK CARS
SATURDAY NIGHT JUNE 17

    The five for one NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series program set for this Saturday evening June 17th will take a peek into the future when the Eastern Kart Racing Association holds their annual prime time exhibition on the quarter mile oval. The Saturday night racing is just the first of two big shows over the weekend at Riverhead Raceway.
    The open wheel go karts will turn laps in their various classes during the night.  Fans might want to keep an eye on some budding future stars of NASCAR racing on Long Island. The EKRA that runs a Sunday afternoon schedule at Riverhead has already provided all six divisions that campaign at the track on Saturdays with talent. Among the EKRA alum include J.R. Bertuccio, John Denniston, Brad Van Houten, Daryn Miller, Mike Andrews Jr., Justin Bonsignore and Chris Beutler just to name a few.
    On the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series program will be two 30-lap main events as the Chargers and Blunderbusts will make up their double point races rained out on June 3rd. Joining them will be the Trailer Transport night NASCAR Modified feature, the James M. Becht Construction night Late Model feature and the Figure Eight stock cars.
    Qualifying will start at 4:30 pm with heats and feature event racing will go green at 5:30 pm.
    Sunday afternoon it’s going to be the annual Father’s Day Enduros taking center stage at 12:30 pm. Joined by the Super Pro Trucks, a Car Rollover Contest and One on One Spectator Drags a full compliment of Enduro racing will be presented. The Grand Enduro will be joined by an 8-Cylinder, 6-Cylinder, 4-Cylinder and 4/6-Cylinder Truck Enduro and it’s a great afternoon out with Dad for his very special day.
