MINI BUS FIGURE
EIGHT RACE SET FOR RIVERHEAD JUNE 24TH
Barbara and Jim
Cromarty will combine the best of three worlds on Saturday night
June 24th when they present another great evening of NASCAR Dodge
Weekly Series racing, salute local law enforcement and top it all
off with a Mini School Bus Figure Eight race and a bone jarring
8-Cylinder Demolition Derby.
Again combining with the New York State Fraternal Order of
Police, Barbara and Jim Cromarty will once again pay tribute to the
men and women of law enforcement with a special on track
presentation. As of press time some twenty-law enforcement agencies
from across Long Island, New York City and upstate New York will be
feted in front of the fans gathered for this very special night.
On the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series stock car menu will be the
Barrasso & Sons Mason Supplies Ernie Maynor Memorial for the Figure
Eight stars, an event Ken Hyde of Medford won in 2005. Hyde along
with Roger Maynor, George Sprague, Tom Kraft, Tom Ferrara, Will
Farrell and Mike Mujsce will all be going all out for this very
special victory.
The NASCAR Modifieds, Late Models and Blunderbusts will complete
the four divisions of NASCAR racing on the night.
The Mini School Bus Figure Eight race will feature the likes of
“Slim” Jim Donaldson, Bob “Whiplash” Genovese and “Terrible” Tim
Farrell who won a Full Size Bus race at Riverhead over Memorial Day
weekend.
Then for the traditionalist it will be good old fashioned
Demolition Derby for the full sizes heavyweight 8-Cylinder machines
with the likes of Jimmy “Wildman Primmy” Hummel, “Irish” Mike
O’Keefe, Bob “Whiplash” Genovese and Michael “Cheesebox” Rommeney
expected to be in action.
All the action gets going with heat races for the NASCAR stock
cars at 4:30 pm and feature event racing at 6:00 pm. For more
