RIVERHEAD TO HOST
MINI BUS DEMO
ON SATURDAY JULY 22ND
This
Saturday it will be time to destroy some school buses on Allstate
Night at Riverhead Raceway. Barbara and Jim Cromarty will be
hosting a Mini School Bus Demolition Derby as part of the Buzz Chew
Chevrolet-Cadillac night for the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series. In all
six great feature events will be presented. Starting at 5:30 pm.
The NASCAR Modifieds will be racing for the Allstate Insurance
trophy as part of that firm’s sponsorship of the national NASCAR
Dodge Weekly Series. The open wheel machines will race in a 35-lap
main event, while their Late Model counterparts will go 25 circuits
on Safelite Auto Glass night honoring their seasonal sponsor. The
Figure Eights and Blunderbusts will also race in 20-lap feature
events.
Buzz Chew Chevrolet and Cadillac will greet all six feature
event winners with handsome victory lane trophies as the Southampton
based car dealership provides Riverhead Raceway with two pace
vehicles. Since 1985 Buzz Chew has provided a Chevrolet Monte Carlo
pace car and added the Cadillac CTS to its two car fleet for 2006.
The stars and cars of the 4-Cylinder Enduro will step into the
Saturday spotlight in a feature event whose distance will be
determined by the amount of cars signed in. Once that fast paced
contest is run then it will be time to wreck some buses in an
all-out Mini School Bus Demolition Derby wall-to-wall brawl!
All the usual “suspects” will be on hand to wreak havoc on the
Mini School Buses including Bob “Whiplash” Genovese, “Slim” Jim
Donaldson, “Typhoon” Tim Farrell, Tommy “Wildchild” Walkowiak and
numerous others.
Heat race qualifying this Saturday will go green at 4:30 pm and
the main events start at 5:30 pm. For more information please dial
