RIVERHEAD RACEWAY TO PRESENT FIREWORKS AUGUST 26TH

    Saturday night, August 26th, Riverhead Raceway promoters Barbara and Jim Cromarty will present their annual 'I Love America' night program which once again will feature a huge fireworks display by Long Island’s own Bay Fireworks. The night sky will light up with the colorful display and the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series drivers will compete for the Donaldsons Volkswagen night trophies.
    Donaldsons, provider of a pace car to Riverhead Raceway since 1989 will present the feature event winners of the NASCAR Modified, Late Model, Figure Eight and Blunderbust feature events with handsome trophies from the Sayville based auto dealership.
    The NASCAR Modifieds will also be running for the Bank of America night trophy with the 35-lap race being sponsored by Nicolock Pavers of Lindenhurst.
    To compliment the spectacular fireworks show by Bay Fireworks two great events from the Riverhead Raceway Sunday afternoon programs will go “Hollywood” under the lights at Riverhead on this evening. A wild and wooly Car Rollover Contest will be presented, with Dennis “The Menace” Scott and Thaddeus Lattanzio battling for the season long championship.
    To make the night even more diversified a One on One Spectator Drag competition has been added to the Donaldsons VW night show and the question here is can anyone beat Brian Pallone of Holbrook. The soft-spoken driver and his Honda Accord are undefeated in 2006, is there anybody out there who can beat this kid? If you think you can all you need to do is sign-up at the back gate Saturday August 26th with a street legal and registered car with working seat belts and a helmet.
