RAY FITZGERALD SHINES IN RIVERHEAD RACEWAY GRAND ENDURO

Ray Fitzgerald of Manorville topped a strong Grand Enduro field Sunday afternoon in a 50-lap main event for his second win of the 2006. His first coming on opening day May 7th.
On the track Fitzgerald steering the Constant Performance Chevy had to endure a fight for the lead with both Bobby Pease and John Cozza before he could lay claim to the victory. After the race Ray’s car along with other top finishers underwent a stringent post race inspection, which he passed nearly two hours after crossing the line.

In the nightcap it was a first career win for Tom Lacoste of Stony Brook in his Auto Pro Auto Parts Chevy as Tom prevailed in a 50-lap tilt.
In the 4/6-Cylinder Truck Enduro James Badalato of Lindenhurst drove the Dan Jones owned Blue Point Auto Body Chevy to victory in a 60-lap affair for his first win of 2006.
In the 6-Cylinder Enduro it was Gene Burbol of Brookhaven taking the win in his Gene’s 112 Auto Repair entry in a 30-lap event, while Shawn Wanat of Riverhead won once again in a 60-lap 4-Cylinder Enduro in his Spit’s Speed Shop machine.
