NEETS Second Annual ‘FEM-Duro’ Gaining
Steam
The ABC Car Crushing NEETS Holiday Stock Car Series
(HSCS) will make its return to Mountain Speedway on Saturday, September
30th for the running of the fan favorite "FEM-Duro', which will be a non
points, NEETS rules enduro. For the second year of the event, Components
Corporation of New Jersey will be the race sponsor. With all female
drivers taking the initial green, the racing should be the most exciting
and entertaining NEETS events of the season.
This is the second annual NEETS female/male tag team 100-lap enduro,
in which ladies, and only ladies will compete for the first 50-laps. The
ladies will line up utilizing the K-Mart Blue Light Special method
(Whoever gets there first). At the half way point, all 4cyl cars will
pit for the male/companion driver change, while the 6/8 cyl ladies take
their turn at yet another Blue Light Special line up. Both divisions
will then realign on the speedway for the remaining 50-laps driven by
the males, starting in reverse order of the ladies finishing positions.
Trophies will be awarded to the top 5 combined finishers in each class.
Ties will be decided by the highest finishing female of each team.
Along with the female/male tag-team enduro will be the first ever
Welch Towing 50/50, where any driver age 50 years old plus will be
eligible for 25-laps of enduro action in the Steel Seal four cylinders
and the Cascioli Roofing 6/8 cylinders. Berwick’s Welsh Towing will
award top five in each division with plaques. Again, all entrants must
be 50 years of age or older and the vehicles must conform to NEETS
rules. One roadblock is that the 50/50 event tech man, Uncle (Richard)
Petey, says that he will be teching is their drivers licenses.
A special ladies only practice is scheduled the same afternoon for
12-1 PM, so the girls could get accustomed to their cars and the asphalt
racing surface. It will also serve as a transponder check. The Steel
Seal four cylinder division and the Cascioli Roofing 6/8 cylinders will
kick off the action with the "Yo Momma" and "Lil Sista" 100-lap feature
events. There will also be the popular “The JUNCTION Bar and Grill” Best
appearing trophy in both divisions, plus the BV Sprinklers "Rough ride
of the day" awards.
In keeping with the FEM-Duro theme, Billy has geared the normal (yet
never normal) after race NEETS party toward the females in our sport.
The girls will be in for many surprises that evening. The party is free
to all participants, crew and family.
The Battered Women’s Shelter will be the NEETS Charity of choice for
the event. $1 from each general admission will be donated to its cause.
The wild and eventful evening of action will begin at 2:00 PM.
Grandstand admission is only $7 for ages 7 and up. Children 6 and under
are admitted free. The race sponsor, Components Corporation, invites
everyone to 'Get bent with us'. Whether you love or can’t stand “women
drivers”, you can’t miss the NEETS HSCS 'FEM-Duro'!
Will it look like the Mall parking lot on “Black Friday”? Or will
the ladies surprise everyone have better lap times than the males? Only
time will tell, and the ladies will have 50-laps of hard racing action
to prove it! One way to find out and that is to come see for yourself.
NEETS always gives the fans the biggest "BANG" for your buck.
