Noted Performance Companies Return with Sponsorship
of the North-South Shootout™
The Joie of Seating of Concord, NC
and PRO-Formance Shocks, Inc. of Lawrenceville , GA have agreed to
extend their involvement with the annual North-South Shootout for 2006.
Both companies came on board as associate sponsors in 2005 with
satisfying results and will continue to provide sponsorship in 2006 for
both the Modified and SK-Type Modified main events.
"It is meaningful to us to have companies return as sponsors
year-after-year. It means that we are doing something right," said race
promoter Charles Kepley of Lexington, NC. " But more importantly, when
companies like the Joie of Seating and PRO Shocks come back, it means
that we can continue to do the right thing for the drivers and teams
that support the race each year."
The Joie of Seating presented all North-South Shootout
qualifying race winners (15 in total) with coupons valued at $250. On
race weekend, the Joie of Seating will present a total of six Safer
Systems valued at $450. The Safer System is a bolt on kit that includes
a head restraint and two-side pieces. The system will bolt on to any
Kirkey, Butler or Richardson seat. The Safer Systems will be distributed
to the first and last place finishers in both the Modified and SK-type
modified main events along with a third set for a randomly selected
finisher in both the Modified 100 and SK-Type 50. The selection for the
third and final set will be made by the winner of the now-famous peddle
car race that is held annually at the Shootout.
Children of competitors or fans are selected to race on the
front stretch at Concord Motorsports Park in nostalgic peddle cars
painted identical to some of the Modified cars in competition. The
event, which has been swept by Shawna Crowley-daughter of winning crew
chief Kevin Crowley, has grown immensely in popularity since in it's
inception in 2004.
A total of five additional gift certificates will be
presented to the winners and last place finishers of both the Modified
and SK-Type Modified Non-Qualifiers event as well as a certificate for
the competitor (in any division) who has traveled the farthest to be
part of the 4th Annual North-South Shootout.
"We love the Modifieds," said Joe Pelham of the Joie of
Seating. "It is where Randy (LaJoie) and I cut our teeth. We have a lot
of friends out there and basically we want to do whatever we can to
educate them on their safety and ultimately to make them safe. By giving
our products away at the North-South Shootout we are helping to do just
that. The race is run very smoothly and we feel fortunate to be
affiliated with such a great event."
Founded by New England native Randy LaJoie, the Joie of
Seating has gained prominence in all levels of stock car racing-from
local short track-to touring series-to national series-for their
innovations in safety technology. The Joie of Seating offers a complete

selected finisher in each of the Modified 100 and SK-Type 50.
