AVAILABLE FOR NOVEMBER 4TH DINNER
Riverhead Raceway owners and promoters Barbara and
Jim Cromarty will honor their 2006 NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series champions
at the annual Victory Celebration set for Saturday November 4th at the
famed Polish Hall in Riverhead. Six stock car divisional champions along
with the Train Race and Car Rollover champions will be feted at the
affair.
Chuck Steuer of Bohemia will lead the 2006 Riverhead Raceway
“parade of champions” as the NASCAR Modified champion honored along with
car owner Grant Williams of Northeastern Office Equipment. For Steuer
it’s his second career title in the open wheel class, his first coming
in 1996. The soft-spoken talent also has a 1992 Charger championship on
his resume.
Greg Kleila of Lindenhurst scored his first career Late Model
championship in his always-immaculate self-owned J&R’S Steakhouse
Pontiac in 2006 and he looks forward stepping to the podium Saturday
November 4th.
“TK” Tom Kraft of Medford will celebrate his third career
Figure Eight championship along with car owner Mitch Butruch who owns
the Four Seasons Sunrooms 1957 Chevy Kraft guided to the crown. Kraft’s
first two championships came in 1986 and 1998.
Joining forces just before the start of the 2006 campaign
proved fruitful for the 2006 Charger championship team of driver Steve
Ratti of Manorville and car owner James M Becht as the Newsday backed
entry scored a first career title for both.
Another driver looking forward to November 4th to mark his
first career Blunderbust crown will be Tommy “Wildchild” Walkowiak of
Ridge, who along with his wife Gayle will be honored for their fine
season in the Unique Golf Chevy.
In Super Pro Truck action the tandem of Bobby Gardner of
Westbury and truck owner Bill Kipp, a former driver himself will be
center stage as champions of the “tailgate” brigade. For Gardner it’s
his first Super Pro Truck title backing-up a 1995 Blunderbust
championship season.
Veteran Train Race teammates Stan Wangenstein of Holtsville
and Scott Graham of Holbrook won their second championship in the class
and will have the distinction of being the last Train Race champions, as
the class is being disbanded for 2007.
Going right down to the final Car Rollover Contest of the
season didn’t fluster Thaddeus Lattanzio of Eastport, as he won his
first career title in that wild and wooly class that indeed will return
in 2007.
Tickets are just $37 each for the Riverhead Raceway Victory
Celebration and include a choice of Roast Beef or Chicken dinner served
“family style” at your table. Complimenting the meal will be Vegetables
& Potatoes, Fruit Cocktail, Green Salad, Rolls & Butter, Ham & Cheese

will be a cash bar all night long.
