Noted drivers slated to compete in the 4th Annual North-South Shootout
TM include two-time and defending race champion John Blewett III of Howell, NJ, the always-exciting Ted Christopher of Plainville, CT, the reigning king of the Southern Modifieds Junior Miller of Danbury, NC and his arch-rival Tim Brown of Cana, VA and many, many more.  Up and coming talents Bobby Santos III of Franklin, MA and Joe Gibbs Racing's Joey Logano headline a number of young drivers making their mark in racing both regionally and nationally including James Civali of Meriden, CT and Andy Seuss of Hampstead, NH.  It will be the first Modified race of his career for Logano.

Santos, fresh off his sixth-place finish for Bill Davis Racing in his ARCA debut, will be doing double-duty at the Shootout.  As will Jimmy "Showtime" Blewett and 2006 Race of Champions Modified Series champion Earl Paulus of Kunkletown, PA.  Other drivers running both the Modifieds and SK-Type Modifieds include Pete Brittain, Daren Scherer, Rick Kluth, Ronnie Silk and Frank Ruocco.

It is an all-star cast of drivers in both the Modifieds and SK-type Modified divisions.  Soon-to-be crowned NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series Region IV Champion, Woody Pitkat of Stafford, CT will be on hand to defend his Shootout SK-type Modified victory while accomplished drivers like Tommy Cravenho, Tom Fox, Rob Janovic, Jr., and Steven Reed hope to stand in his way and in victory lane.

A contingent of crate-motored SK-type Modifieds from Wall Speedway and Stafford Motor Speedway, headlined by Shelly Perry of Ashaway, RI, the SK-Lite Champion at Stafford, will likely get their own feature event during the weekend.  Perry, who became Connecticut's first female stockcar racing champion in September by virtue of her 2006 Mini Stock championship at Thompson International Speedway padded her place in history last weekend by clinching her second championship in one season with the title at Stafford.

Full fields of Pro-Four/Four Cylinder Outlaws and vintage racer are also expected.  A comprehensive look at the registered drivers in all divisions can be found at www.northsouthshootout.com.

The "Who's Who" of racers will vie for a lucrative purse during the weekend.  The Hoosier 100 Modified winner will take home $5,000 and custom-painted helmet and shotgun by nationally recognized Indocil Art. But that is only the beginning.  A stout $10,000 in lap money is on the line.  Also up for grabs is $6,650 in contingencies.  The winner of the 4th Annual North-South Shootout
TM Hoosier 100 will be granted a guaranteed starting spot in the traditional Turkey Derby being held on Nov. 24& 25 at Wall Township Speedway in Wall, NJ.

The SK-Type Modifieds competitors will vie for a winner's payday of $2,000 with $5,000 in lap money available.  Contingencies totaling $4,650 in cash and prizes are also up for grabs.

Fans at the Shootout will enjoy more than just two days of action-packed, edge-of-your seat racing excitement.  Concord Motorsport Park boasts a host of amenities including a playground for the kids and a picnic area.  Saturday afternoon, fans will be invited on to the track for the Shootout pit party.  Get up close to the cars that will take to the famed tri-oval and meet the hot shoes that will drive them.  C&C Racing Promotions proudly hosts the "Little Shootout", whereby kids get their chance to race at the Shootout-pedal-powered.   Finally, a full-line of North-South Shootout TM apparel is available to help commemorate the event.  It will be a trip that won't likely be forgotten.
