ATLANTIC CITY, NJ
January 2, 2007 . . . NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion Todd “The
Onion” Bodine and rising young female star Erin Crocker have been added
to the impressive array of major motorsports figures that will be
appearing at Motorsports 2007 presented by VP Racing Fuels.
The three day show, offering just about everything imaginable in
motorsports, will take place January 12th through 14th at the plush
Atlantic City Convention Center.
Bodine, who comes from a racing family that includes brothers Geoff (a
Daytona 500 winner) and Brett (a NASCAR Cup winner), brought the first
major series title to the Bodine family when he won the 2006 NASCAR
Craftsman Truck Series championship. Todd is also planning to run a
limited number of Nextel Cup events in 2007 in addition to defending his
Truck Series title.
“The Onion” will be signing autographs at the Brickel’s Race
Collectibles display from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 14th.
Erin Crocker, who was the first female to find success with the World
of Outlaw sprint cars, currently is part of the Ray Evernham NASCAR
organization and ran events in NASCAR Busch Series, ARCA Re/Max Series
and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2006.
Also scheduling an appearance at Motorsports 2007 is SPEED Channel
personality Bob Dillner. He will be signing autographs with Erin Crocker
in the stage area from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Other major figures making appearances at the show include former
NASCAR Winston Cup crew chief Jeff Hammond who will be signing copies of
his “Real Men Work In The Pits” book that will be on sale.
NHRA Funny Car driver Ron Capps will be signing autographs early on
Friday afternoon and again from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Brickel’s
Collectible display while NASCAR Nextel Cup racer Dave Blaney, a former
World of Outlaws champion, giving away his signature at the Dover
International Speedway booth from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday.
ARCA RE/MAX Series standout Bobby Gerhart will be visiting with fans at
the Pocono Raceway display and make a major sponsorship announcement at
2:30 p.m. on Friday while 2003 NASCAR Nextel Cup champion Matt Kenseth
will sign autographs from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Chapman Ford display.
NASCAR Nextel Cup Rookie of the Year Denny Hamlin will be talking with
fans and signing autographs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the stage area on
Saturday, January 13th. And legendary journalist and former TV
broadcaster Chris Economaki will be signing copies of his new book, “Let
‘Em All Go.” Chris will sign autographs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the
Coastal 181 display.
The show, covering more than 270,000 square feet of the Convention
Center, will have more than 250 racecars on display, 600 booths offering
nothing but racing, the U.S. Tobacco Ms. Motorsports Contest and much,
much more during the three days.
The “Gambler’s Classic sponsored by Pepsi” will offer the M&R Midgets
(Three Quarter Midgets and 600cc Micros) in two nights of racing January
12th and 13th at the Boardwalk Hall making for a fantastic weekend of
motorsports entertainment.
