Riverhead Raceway Chief
Steward Bill Denniston announced that the annual Riverhead Raceway
Competitors Winter Meeting will be Sunday, January 28th. The gathering
will take place once again at the Polish Hall in Riverhead where the
track hosts its annual NASCAR Whelen All-American Series awards dinner.
The morning will start with the Blunderbust division meeting at
10:00 am and time has been allotted until 11:00 am for the class. Up
next will be a combination of the Chargers and Super Pro Trucks who will
begin their meeting at 11:15 am and run as late as 12:30 pm if needed.
A lunch break will run from 12:45 pm until 2:15 pm when the Late
Model and Figure Eight classes will start their meeting. The day will
conclude with the NASCAR Modified meeting at 4:00 pm.
Among the topics discussed will be the announcement of the three
pre-season Safety Inspection dates at Riverhead Raceway, which will take
place in the pit area of the famed quarter mile facility. Saturday March
31st, April 7th and April 14th have been set aside for race teams to
bring their cars to the track to be inspected for safety. All cars must
be inspected for safety before they go on track in the two pre-season
practice days at Riverhead Saturday April 21st and April 28th.
