Mike's Place to Again Host LI Daytona 500
Party February 18
Long Island’s original and largest Daytona 500
Party is all set for February 18th at Mike’s Place in Coram with hosts
Bob Finan and Steve Halpin gearing up for perhaps the largest bash to
date. A virtual who’s, who of Riverhead Raceway drivers and
personalities will again flock to Mike’s Place to enjoy the 49th running
of the “Great American Race”
Joe Paprocky of Mike’s Place will again roll out the red carpet for
race fans with t-shirts featuring the NASCAR Modified of David Roys and
Tom Anderson’s Charger car on back of the shirt, as Mike’s will again
sponsor both for 2007. The t-shirts will be given away during the day
while supplies last. Also all who enter the party will receive a ticket
with a drawing to be held later in the afternoon with lucky winners
taking home a fashionable NASCAR Leather jacket. Fans will also be able
to purchase a raffle ticket for the chance to win one of two 42” LCD
Plasma Televisions that will make watching the remainder of the 2007
Nextel Cup Series much more enjoyable!
Bob Finan of Riverhead Raceway fame along with his former broadcast
partner Steve Halpin were happy to announce that Miller Lite and Miller
Genuine Draft will be the official beer of the Daytona 500 Party. “It’s
only fitting that Miller, who have been a major marketing partner since
1985 at Riverhead Raceway, becomes the official beer of the Daytona 500
party” Finan noted. The Miller Lite girls will be on hand during the
race giving away plenty of Miller Lite prizes courtesy of Boening
Brothers Distributors of Lindenhurst. Mike’s also features a wide
variety of other domestic and import beers along with a full bar of fine
liquors and wines.
Steve Halpin and his twin brother Tim will again be running their
famous Daytona 500 pools with several lucky winners going home with some
extra spending money. Looking head to the 2007 party Steve praised Joe
Paprocky and his staff at Mike’s Place. “Mike’s will once again supply
an endless buffet once the race gets underway” Halpin disclosed. “Also
for extra seating and to accommodate those who smoke, Joe and his staff
will have a large tent on the east side of the building that will be
heated and feature numerous TV’s”
Doors will open at 12 noon for the Daytona 500 Party, with the race
slated to go green at 2:00 pm on FOX. Mike’s Place is located at 24
Route 25, just east of Route 112 in Coram and they can be reached at
