Riverhead Announces Three Safety Tech Dates
Riverhead Raceway chief steward Bill Denniston
announced at the recent winter meetings held for competitors that the three
pre-season safety technical inspection dates will be held Saturday March
31st, April 7th and April 14th. This year practice will also be available
to drifting.
The safety inspections will be staged in the Riverhead Raceway pit area
all three days and start at 10:00 am. “Before any racecar or truck from the
NASCAR Whelen All American Series can take part in our practice days April
21st and 28th, they first must go through and pass safety inspection”
Denniston noted. It was disclosed that if weather conditions were favorable
the Riverhead officials would seal engines as well.
Aside from the NASCAR Modifieds, Late Models, Figure Eights, Chargers,
Blunderbusts and Super Pro Trucks, track officials will also be available
those three dates for Grand Enduro and 4/6-Cylinder Enduro race teams and
drifting drivers.
NASCAR License applications will be available all three days as well
through Christine Healy and the Hoosier Tire Compound will also be open for
business March 31st, April 7th and April 14th.
A nominal $5 fee per person will be collected at the back gate on the
safety inspection days with gates opening at 10:00 am. For more information
please call the Riverhead Raceway office at 631-842-RACE or visit
