Jimmy Blewett Retains Point Lead with Gutsy
Performance at Stafford
The T.S. Haulers / United Crane Rentals racing team had a tough night at
Stafford Motor Speedway Friday night. Jimmy Blewett struggled with an ill
handling car early and fought his way from a lap in arrears to finish
thirteenth. Blewett remains at the top of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour
point standings. .
“We did the best with what we had,” said Jimmy, “the car was so loose in
the beginning that I had to short-pit. If the changes we made on that pit
stop had worked, we’d probably be talking in victory lane.” Blewett
inherited the lead on the track when the balance of the leaders stopped for
tires and fuel. “We were still too loose when we got the lead. We were going
to try to hold on for a top-ten finish until we got taken out.” Jimmy had
avoided an incident and was hit by another competitor under caution. Blewett
battled back from one lap down to finish on the lead lap. .
“We have to thank our sponsors for making this possible. We have United
Crane Rentals and Archer Steel from New Jersey they help us out a lot. And
of course Eddie Partridge with T.S. Haulers from out on Long Island, he puts
this all together.”
“I’d also like to personally thank the Arutes for their support of the
NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour here at Stafford Motor Speedway. They host us
for four events here each year. We hope we can find victory lane here in one
of the two remaining races here this year.” Jimmy’s next Whelen Modified
Tour race will be at the Thompson International Speedway, in Thompson,
Connecticut on June 21st.
Ed Partridge, owner of the T.S. Haulers team, would like to thank John
Blewett, III, Billy Mathes from Performance Engines by “Billy the Kid”, Ron
Hutter of Hutter Racing Engines, Nick Hamp from Peterbilt of Maine and John
