A frontal system that stalled
over the eastern end of Long Island leaving a wake of showers and drizzle in
its wake forced Riverhead Raceway promoters Barbara and Jim Cromarty to
postpone this Saturday evening’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series program.
Monday morning it was announced that the 50-lap Late Model feature event
along with the 25-lap Figure Eight feature would be run this Saturday
evening June 16th. Both races carry double points. The scheduled Eastern
Kart Racing Association exhibition for this Saturday has been postponed and
will be made up at a later date. Joining the NASCAR Whelen All-American
Series program this week are the NASCAR Modifieds, Chargers and
Blunderbusts.
Saturday evening will find the annual salute to law enforcement with the
New York State Fraternal Order of Police taking place with over 20-law
enforcement agencies expected to participate in on track presentation.
Time trials for the Late Models will kick off qualifying this Saturday at
4:00 pm with feature event racing set for 5:00 pm.
