Wayne Okula Teams Up With
Gibbs Racing
Wayne Okula, a 5-year veteran of the Blunderbust ranks,
has teamed up with longtime Riverhead team, Gibbs Racing, to foray into the
Riverhead Charger ranks for the remainder of 2007 and for a full season in
2008. In addition, Okula’s Blunderbust sponsors will make the move as well,
fueling Okula to the front in his new division.
Gibbs Racing, known for producing winning combinations,
such as last year with Henry Cataldo, has teamed up with Okula Motorsports.
The duo will field a #67 entry in the Charger ranks in hopes of gaining seat
time in 2007, so they may make a run for the 2008 Rookie of the Year crown.
Helping fuel the tandem, will be Okula’s Blunderbust
sponsors, which have made the jump with Okula to the Charger division.
Artisan Appraisers will once again be the primary sponsor for the team.
Joining Artisan Appraisers to the Gibbs Racing/Okula Motorsports team are:
Athens Gyro & Grill of Riverhead, Master Craft Painting of Riverhead, WRCN
103.9, FB Performance Transmissions, Peconic Sign Company, Fitness
Advantage, Truck Wurks of Southold, Netlink Funding Corp., Tri-W Roofing,
Elite Transport, Permatex, Hawk Performance Brake Pads, Pro-System, HSBC
Bank, Trinity Technologies, Blue Point Auto Body, and Rovin Promotions.
Okula would also like to publicly thank Rob Bader and
Bader Motorsports for carrying Okula Motorsports colors on their #5x
Chevrolet Blunderbust while Okula made the move.
Look for Okula to make his Charger debut on Saturday,
July 21 at Riverhead Raceway. As in the Blunderbusts, watch Okula quickly
get a handle of things as he earns experience towards the Rookie of the Year
honors in 2008.
