Mini School
Bus Demo Set for Buzz Chew Chevy Night July 28
The month of July will come to a thunderous
conclusion at Barbara and Jim Cromarty’s Riverhead Raceway Saturday evening
July 28th with a Mini School Bus Demolition Derby which will highlight the
Buzz Chew Chevrolet-Cadillac night program. A full card of NASCAR Whelen
All-American Series racing will be presented along with the popular
One-One-One Spectator Drags and a 4/6-Cylinder Truck Enduro.
Buzz Chew Chevrolet-Cadillac has been a pace car sponsor at Riverhead
Raceway since 1985 and the Southampton based dealership is providing the
track with a 2007 Chevy Impala and Chevy HHR LT for this season. All those
fortunate enough to win a feature event on July 28th will take home a
handsome trophy from Buzz Chew and staff.
The NASCAR Modifieds will have their final tune-up before the August 4th
Miller Lite NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour “Flash” event in a 35-lap main
event. The Late Models will also contest for the Safelite Auto Glass night
trophy, as they recognize their seasonal sponsor. Rounding out the NASCAR
stock car portion of the show will be the Figure Eights and Blunderbusts.
The cars and stars of the 4/6-Cylinder Truck Enduro class that normally
races on Sunday afternoons will race under the lights, with Terry Stiles of
Rocky point seeking his third win of 2007.
The card will conclude with a rock ‘em sock ‘em Mini School Bus
Demolition Derby with all the usual suspects ready to wreck some buses.
Among those slated to compete are “Slim” Jim Donaldson, Michael “Cheesebox”
Rommeney and “Tornado” Tim Farrell among several others.
Qualifying will start at 4:30 pm and the feature event racing will take
the green flag at 6:00 pm Saturday July 28th. For further information please
