"Promoters
Summit" Will be Part of Motorsports 2008
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ July 20, 2007 . . . The business of short track auto
racing is changing. More and more auto racing short track promoters are
becoming part of organizations helping to grow the sport and address
problems facing the industry.
Len Sammons is inviting promoters and sanctioning organization officials to
be part of the first Promoters Summit being presented as part of his highly
successful Motorsports 2008 presented by VP Racing Fuels weekend being
presented at the Atlantic City Convention Center in Atlantic City, NJ,
January 18 thru 20th.
Ernie Saxton, a well known figure in the industry, has accepted the
responsibility of putting the first Summit together and making it a success.
“Our plan is to involve key figures in the Summit that will share their
expertise in a series of meetings, workshops and roundtable discussions,”
said Saxton. “We will be discussing a variety of subjects important to the
short track racing industry. There has been a tremendous change in the
industry and we need to address that. It will be a weekend of learning and
sharing for all of us.”
Some of the subjects scheduled to be included in the discussions are:
* Working with the mainstream and trade media including the internet
* Credentialing the right people
* Understanding insurance
* Safety must come first
* Promotions that work and those that don’t
* Motors (Crate, Spec and more)
* Concessions
* Entertaining racing
* Community relations (show the community how important the local speedway
is)
* And more
“It is hoped that promoters will bring key members of their staff to be
part of the Summit,” said Sammons. “We are planning to make it an enjoyable
weekend for all who attend. They will be part of the show and will be
invited to attend the indoor auto racing events at Boardwalk Hall.”
Anyone with interest in attending the Promoters Summit should be in touch
with Saxton at 215.752.7797 or e-mail
Esaxton144@aol.com.
There are sponsorship and promotional opportunities available for
businesses to be involved in the Promoters Summit.
Additional information will be released in the near future.
The 23rd edition of the popular mid-winter motorsports extravaganza,
Motorsports 2008 presented by VP Racing Fuels, is set to return to Atlantic
City’s plush Convention Center and the Gambler’s Classic Indoor Auto Racing
events will return to the Boardwalk Hall conveniently located just a few
