Expected for A.C. Indoors, Tickets on Sale
ATLANTIC CITY,
NJ…JULY 27, 2007 - Remember the huge crowd that jammed Atlantic City's
Boardwalk Hall last January for the 'Gambler's Classic' indoor auto racing
when Joey Payne just nipped Lou Cicconi Jr. in a photo finish to the
Saturday-night headliner?
It's expected to be even larger in 2008.
The sixth running of the Len Sammons Motorsports Productions 'Gambler's
Classic' is set for the concrete floor of Boardwalk Hall on Friday and
Saturday, Jan. 18-19, 2008. The Three-Quarter Midgets/600cc Micro-Sprints
will be back to serve as top billing, while Slingshots and Champ Karts will
fill out the two-day racing menu.
Again, the indoor auto racing will be held in conjunction with the
Motorsports 2008 presented by VP Racing Fuels show at the nearby Atlantic
City Convention Center, just blocks away.
Tickets go on sale tentatively Aug. 8, at which time race fans can begin
reserving their seats for the '08 running of the event.
"We know from all the positive feedback we received last year that our fans
left Boardwalk Hall looking for more," said Len Sammons, event promoter,
noting the excitement of the racing and timeliness of both shows.
"We're expecting a standout crowd for the 2008 running of the 'Gambler's
Classic.'"
Saturday night's lower level sold out in advance last year. Because of that
- and by request of fans to have the same seat on both nights this year -
lower-level reserved seats will be on sale for Friday night's events for the
first time ever. Friday prices are $22 (reserved), $17 (general admission)
and $10 (kids, ages 2-12).
For Saturday night, lower-level reserved seats will be $25, with general
admission at $20 and kids $12. Reserved seats will be sold on a first-come,
first-served basis.
