Presents Full Size School Bus Demo August 11
The Full Size School Bus Demolition Derby has become
one, if not the most popular family entertainment events on the annual
Riverhead Raceway schedule and Saturday August 11th night it will finally
arrive.If wrecking those monster machines wasn’t enough, a Taxi Cab
Demolition Derby will also join the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series show.
The championship chase for the 2007 track titles will hit their final
stretch August 11th with the NASCAR Modified title still up for grabs. Among
those slugging it out over the final month of the season is Bill Park, Tom
Rogers Jr., Dan Jivanelli, J.R. Bertuccio, defending champion Chuck Steuer,
Dave Brigati, Chris Young and Wayne Anderson.
The NASCAR Modifieds will run a 35-lap main event August 11th and be
joined by the Late Models, Figure Eights and Chargers. The Figure Eight
division will run their third and final 25-lap, double point race of 2007
with Roger Maynor of Bay Shore enjoying a very comfortable lead in the title
chase. The One-On-One Spectator Drags will complete the program.
All the usual colorful suspects are expected to wreak havoc in the Full
Size School Bus Demolition Derby headed-up by “Slim” Jim Donaldson of
Shirley an immensely popular figure with the young fans. Joining him will be
“Tornado” Tim Farrell, Michael “Cheesebox” Rommeney and Donald Fox among
others.
Ever wanted to get even with a taxi cab driver? Well the August 11th
show is for you, as Riverhead Raceway will present a Taxi Cab Demolition
Derby. Competitors are reminded this event will pay a regular Demolition
Derby purse and carry points towards the 2007 Demolition Derby championship.
Qualifying will start at 4:30 pm and feature racing gets the green at
