Riverhead
Presents Miller Lite Night August 18
Riverhead Raceway will host
Miller Lite night this Saturday August 18th honoring the quarter mile oval’s
longest running sponsor who has been a marketing partner with the track
since 1985. A full card of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing will be
presented and the night will come to a smashing conclusion with a 4-Cylinder
Demolition Derby.
Miller Lite and their Long Island distributor Boening Brothers
Distributors of Lindenhurst has been a seasonal sponsor for the NASCAR
Modifieds, Figure Eights and Demolition Derby events. Miller Lite is also
the title sponsor for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race annually at the
historic oval, which was won recently by Donny Lia of Jericho.
All feature event winners will take home a handsome Miller Lite trophy
for their effort from Al Frazer and his staff at Boening Brothers. The Late
Models will go 50 circuits in their final double point race of the year,
while
the Blunderbusts will run their third and final 30-lap, double point main
event of the 2007 campaign. The NASCAR Modifieds and Chargers will also be
in action as the chase for the 2007 Riverhead Raceway championships hits its
final run.
One-On-One Spectator Drags and the 4-Cylinder Demolition Derby will
provide the family entertainment events for the night. Don Carasiti of St.
James has been virtually unbeatable in the Spectator Drags races in his 1986
Pontiac Firebird. Over in the Demolition Derby paddock Michael Rommeney of
Maspeth will come to the 4-Cylinder Demo as the point leader.
Time trials for the Late Models will be at 4:30 pm with other qualifying
races to follow and the feature events will go green at 6:00 pm.
