Thompson kicked off the World
Series of Auto Racing today, with practice for all the divisions
that are in the pits to this point, and qualifying heats for all
the "Outlaw" series, in addition to the Pro-Fours, Mini-Stocks,
Thompson Mods and ART truck series racers. The WMT and Sunoco
Mods, along with the ISMA Modifieds will be in action tomorrow,
as qualifying continues, with some features being run tomorrow
for the divisions that qualified today.
In the pits so far is Rusty
Turbush, with his 17x Lolly’s Hut modified set up to run as a
Sunoco (SK) Modified, and he also is running the ProStock race
in one of Jarrod Hayes’ Big Brothers Big Sisters of LI Late
Models. Also in the pits are Daryn Miller’s #30, Garret
Fabrizio’s #13, and Thore Foss’ #57; along with the Sandy Shore
Builders #5 and #51, driven by Jeremy McDermott and Jon Ellwood,
respectively. Rob Visconti’s #23 is also here to run as a
Thompson Late Model.
We will have more as the weekend goes on, so stick with us for
the latest on your favorite drivers as the weekend progresses.
Mike Mercurio is here, already taking pictures of the action on
the track. The weather is looking good, so all should go well
for this exciting weekend of racing.
