The "Gambler's Classic" Indoor Auto Race presented by Pepsi
will be even more exciting in 2008, thanks to Behrent's
Performance Warehouse.
Complementing an already-thrilling program on the concrete
floor of Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall, Florida, N.Y.-based
Behrent's Performance Warehouse will sponsor a Dash-for-Cash
event for the headline M&R Products Three Quarter
Midgets/600cc Micro-Sprints.
The Slingshots and Champ Karts will also be in action during
the Jan. 18 & 19 event, run in conjunction with Motorsports 2008
presented by VP Racing Fuels held at the nearby Atlantic City
Convention Center.
The Behrent's Dash for Cash will be a highlight of Saturday
night's program. The 10-lap event will feature the top-three
drivers in time trials from Friday night and the three heat-race
victors, also from the Friday preliminary program.
The race will offer up a $500 top prize, with $150 going to
second. Gift certificates worth $25 to Behrent's will be handed
out to the drivers who place third through sixth.
"Last year's classic battle between Joey Payne and Lou
Cicconi Jr. left the fans wanting more," said event promoter Len
Sammons, referring to the down-to-the-wire finish of last year's
feature. "The Behrent's Dash for Cash should only produce more
thrilling memories in 2008!"
M&R Products TQ Midget/600cc Micro-Sprint entries have been
pouring in for
the sixth running of the Len Sammons Motorsports
Productions-presented event, including asphalt Modified standout
Ted Christopher, up-and-coming asphalt star Erick Rudolph,
dirt-track Modified standouts Jeff Heotzler Sr., Billy Pauch Sr.
and Jr., Mike Iles and Ryan Bartlett, Sprint Car racer Cody
Darrah, past race winner Lou Cicconi Jr., and Canadian
Supermodified talent Mike Lichty.
Over 50 drivers have already registered for the weekend's
Champ Kart event.
Friday night's program is scheduled to consist of M&R Midget
time trials at 7 p.m., with 8 p.m. signaling the start of three
Champ Kart qualifiers, followed by alternating M&R Midget
Triple Roaring 20s and Slingshot Dirty Dozen qualifiers. The
Roaring 20s are being presented by WeeBee Audio, the RAACE
Foundation and SpitFire Chassis.
The Saturday-night program will begin with Fan Fest on the
track at 6:30 p.m., followed by pre-race ceremonies at 7 p.m., a
pair of M&R Midget C-Mains at 7:30 p.m., the Slingshot 25-lap
A-Main, the M&R Midget B-Main, the Sr. Champ Kart 25-lap A-Main
