Veteran NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racer Elliott
Sadler will be part of the huge Motorsports 2008 Race Car Show
presented by VP Racing Fuels. The three day show, set to open
at noon on January 18th, will take place at the Atlantic City,
NJ Convention Center and is expected to attract in excess of
30,000 people.
The show, filling close to 300,000 square
feet of the Convention Center, will offer just about everything imaginable in motorsports including more than 250 motorsports
vehicles on display.
Sadler, who will drive a Dodge for GEM
Motorsports in 2008 and carry sponsorship from Best Buy, will
be visiting with fans and signing autographs from 2 pm to 4 pm
on Saturday, January 19th. Considered one of the most engaging
personalities in the sport, Sadler has a wonderful rapport with media and fans. Sadler is coming off a season that saw him
finish 25th in final Sprint Cup standings. His best effort was
a sixth place finish in the season opening Daytona 500.
The veteran racer has become a fan favorite
in part because of his involvement with the popular
Trackside show on SPEED Channel. He joins an impressive list
of NASCAR racing talents that will be participating in the
show. Included with Sadler is Craftsman Truck Champion Ron
Hornaday along with Kenny Wallace, Kenny Schrader, and Casey
Mears.
Schrader and Wallace will be discussing
their own careers in NASCAR and give their thoughts on the
state of short-track racing nationwide in their roles as racers
and promoters. The "Kenny and Kenny" presentation will take
place at 10:45 am on Friday, January 18th. Those with
Motorsports 2008 tickets will be admitted to the A-Hall
entrance at 10 am to see and hear these industry speakers.
Schrader is also scheduled to participate
in the Gambler's Classic indoor auto racing events at the nearby
Boardwalk Hall Friday evening. The nine event program consists
of the Roaring 20s for the Midgets (Three Quarter Midgets and
600 Micro-Sprints), Dirty Dozens for the Slingshots and the 7
come 11 for the Sr. Caged Karts. Gates open at 6:30 pm.
Motorsports 2008 offers more than 600
exhibit booths offering everything from safety equipment, race
car parts to racing collectibles. In addition, close to two
dozen FREE seminars covering subjects from sponsorship to legal
issues and on to setting up race cars will be presented during
the three days.
Again this year the very popular US Tobacco
Ms. Motorsports Pageant will be presented, with the winner
walking off with a $1,500 cash prize plus a personal appearances
deal.
