The Motorsports University will be in session January 18th
thru 20th as part of the Motorsports 2008 Race Car Show
presented by VP Racing Fuels. A ticket to the show offers some
wonderful rewards and educational opportunities that could cost
hundreds or even thousands of dollars. A full list of FREE
seminars covering a wide range of subjects have been scheduled
during the three day show that offers just about everything
imaginable in motorsports including free autograph opportunities
with some of the major names in the sport. The show, filling
close to 300,000 square feet of the plus Atlantic City, NJ
Convention Center, is set to open at 12 noon on January 18th and
closes at 5 p.m. on Sunday, January 20th.
Ever wonder what Billy Colton, Jim Bernheisel or Scott
Jeffery are thinking at race time? Find out by attending
Colton’s “Dirt Modified Chassis Set-Up” seminar, Bernheisel’s
“Dirt Late Model Set-Ups and Chassis Tuning” or Jeffery’s
“Reading A Dirt Track/Communicating With Your Driver.” For the
entry-level set, there is Sleepy Gomez’s “Engine and Chassis
Tips For Low-Buck Dirt Racers.” NASCAR racer Randy LaJoie will
present the “Safer Racer Tour,” covering racing safety in all
divisions.
Looking to start out in racing or climb up the ladder? Try
“How To Get Your Child Started In Racing,” “A Young Driver’s
Next Step Up,” or “What You Need To Know To Move Up To An Open
Wheel Modified Division” presented by Matt and Tony Hirschman.
Looking to increase exposure for your team or land a major
sponsor? Try “How Do You Get Good Media Exposure?” or Ernie
Saxton’s “The Basics of Race Team Sponsorship.”
Have a passion for Vintage Car racing but don’t know where to
start? Try “Race Car Restoration” hosted by Ray Shea of the
Garden State Vintage Car Club.
Small-car enthusiasts can participate in the “600
Micro-Sprint Roundtable Discussion” or the “Quarter Midgets of
America Region Two Meeting.”
Work at a speedway? There will be plenty of information at
Motorsports 2008 including “Race Car Handicapping,” hosted by
Lincoln (PA) and Williams Grove (PA) handicapper Bryan
Householder, a “Race Announcer Forum” led by Shane Andrews, a “A
Race Track Public Relations/Media Workshop” hosted by Lincoln
Speedway’s Wayne Harper, and “Proper Extrication of an Injured
Driver,” led by George McElvey and Rick Toretala, two noted
track safety specialists.
Aspiring photographers can get an in-depth lesson from
award-winning photographer Bob Yurko in an “Amateur Auto Racing
Photography Workshop,” while those established in the trade can
participate in a “Professional Auto Racing Photographer
Workshop.”

Motorsports University will certainly go a long way toward
making attendees better at what they do in the sport.
