February 1, Riverhead, NY--- The resurging
East End Kart Racing club announced a very ambitious 2008
schedule for their home track Riverhead Raceway. The first race
of sixteen scheduled events will be on Sunday March 23rd. Two
pre-season practice sessions will precede the opener on Sunday
March 9th and Saturday March 22nd.
EEKR president Dave Brigati, a veteran
NASCAR Modified and Late Model driver in the NASCAR Whelen
All-American Series at Riverhead, has been lauded in go-kart
circle for getting the EEKR pointed in the right direction
during the 2007 season. Dave, along with his wife Cindy and long
time go-kart proponent Linda Solomito, run the EEKR events at
Riverhead among others and are very excited about the upcoming
season.
The crown jewel of the 2008 EEKR slate is
the three-day regional event that they will once again host
starting Friday October 10th with an open and shootout practice.
Saturday October 11th will find further warm-ups for the
regional contest as well as qualifying for the shootout and the
shootout itself.
Then Sunday October 11th go-kart teams from
across the nation will compete for the regional titles and
points. It could very well be as has happened in the past that
a regional champion in one of the various classes could be
crowned right at Riverhead Raceway.
For further details on the EEKR events or
their 2008 schedule for Riverhead Raceway please call Cindy
Brigati at 631-208-9143 or Linda Solomito at 631-252-9677.
