Rob Bader Jr. was among an impressive class
of Blunderbust rookies in 2007, and the young driver finished
2nd in the competition for "Rookie of the Year" sponsored by Joe
Larsen and JTL Enterprises. He spent the season gaining valuable
knowledge and seat time in the Blunderbusts, while also racing
some Enduros at Riverhead and other tracks. The driver will
enter his sophomore season in the Blunderbusts in 2008 with a
new number, a new paint scheme, a new sponsor and a new
cause. Bader's racing effort for the upcoming season is being
dubbed "Pit Stop Cancer."
Bader has announced that he will be
donating his 2008 earnings to the American Institute for Cancer
Research (www.aicr.org).
In addition, the driver will be accepting donations by his car
after the races on Saturday nights throughout the season. Bader
will have stickers available for other drivers who wish to help
support the cause.
"I'm inspired to do this by the loss of my
uncle," stated Bader, "as well as by my grandmother's recent
bout with breast cancer, which she won. I'm also doing this for
all of the people who have lost someone they love or know to
cancer."
Bader will also be sporting a new number
and a new paint scheme in 2008. He has decided to run the #19,
in honor of his racing hero, Bob Park. Bader would like to thank
Benny Vecchio for allowing him to use the number.
A number of sponsors are returning to help
Bader in his efforts in 2008. They include his mother and
father, who sponsor the car through their business, Robert's
Express Fuel Oil. Other returning sponsors include Moeller's
Heroes & Catering and FB Performance. In 2008, the team will
welcome aboard Racing Creations. The team is still looking for
additional sponsorship to help them finance their 2008 racing
efforts and to promote this worthy cause. Anyone looking for
more information can contact Rob at (631) 708-5586.
