Riverhead Raceway officials announced today that Miller Lite
would return as a marketing partner for the 2008 NASCAR Whelen
All-American Series in 2008, which opens Saturday evening May
3rd. This marks the 24th consecutive season that Miller Lite
will sponsor the NASCAR Modifieds, Figure Eights and Demolition
Derby events at the quarter-mile facility.
The marketing partnership between Miller Lite and the
Cromarty family at Riverhead Raceway is one of the longest
running in short track racing in the country. Al Frazer,
director of marketing for Miller Lite and their Long Island
distributor Boening Brothers noted, “We continue to enjoy a
wonderful relationship not just with Barbara and Jim Cromarty,
but everyone associated with the great NASCAR short track racing
at Riverhead Raceway”. Frazer also looked forward, “of course
2009 will mark our silver anniversary together and should be
very exciting as well."
To highlight the Miller Lite marketing program in 2008, the
signature event will again be the Miller Lite NASCAR Whelen
Modified Tour “Flash” race on Saturday, August 2nd. The 2007
edition of the race was won by WMT champion Donny Lia of
Jericho, but the 2008 event will be a wide-open affair as Lia
has embarked on the Craftsman Truck Series for 2008.
Two great Miller Lite programs are set for Saturday July 5th,
for the track’s annual Independence Day spectacular with a huge
Fireworks display; with the second Miller Lite night set for
Saturday, September 13th for the National Demolition Derby
championship.
The 2008 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series will go green
Saturday evening May 3rd with a six-for-one program featuring
the NASCAR Modified and Figure Eights, who’ll be joined by the
Late Models, Charger, Blunderbusts and Super Pro Trucks.
