For the
seventh consecutive season Golden Auto Body of College Point,
Queens will sponsor Riverhead Raceway's Super Pro Truck division
in 2008.
The Super
Pro Trucks will swing into action along with five other great
NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions at Barbara and Jim
Cromarty's historic quarter mile oval Saturday evening May 3rd.
Charlie
Rizzo who took over ownership of Golden Auto Body some five
years ago from the Costa family has long had affection for the
Super Pro Trucks and 2008 is no exception, as the "tailgate
brigade" will receive weekly sponsorship money in their purse.
In
making the announcement Rizzo also disclosed that Saturday
September 13th will serve as Golden Auto Body "night at the
race" with that race program including the Miller Lite National
Demolition Derby championship, an action packed evening to say
the very least.
Danny
Grennan of Glen Cove scored the 2007 SPT championship at
Riverhead Raceway and as of press time his 2008 plans were
uncertain, although most everyone expects to see him in the
opening night field May 3rd.
Riverhead Raceway officials are still seeking additional
seasonal and individual race sponsors not just for the Super Pro
Trucks, but all the racing divisions and related events for
2008. For more marketing program information please call
631-842-RACE Monday through Friday from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm.
In addition to the Super Pro
Trucks the opening night program May 3rd will feature the NASCAR
Modifieds, Late Models, Figure Eights, Chargers and
Blunderbusts.
