This past week Riverhead Raceway officials announced that B.
Sexton Site Development would return to the track's marketing
program as a seasonal sponsor and that they would be making the
move to the Figure Eight division. The Figure Eights are just
one of six divisions that will usher in the 2008 NASCAR Whelen
All-American Series at Riverhead Saturday May 3rd.
B. Sexton Site Development is based in Southampton and they will
join Miller Lite in backing the "world famous" Figure Eight
stock cars this season. Miller Lite has been sponsoring the
class since 1985.
"We're very pleased to have Bud Sexton, one of the most popular
and colorful sponsors we've had in quite sometime, become a
marketing partner with the Figure Eights" Riverhead's Bob Finan
noted. Saturday night August 23rd will serve as B. Sexton Site
Development night, which coincides with the track's annual I
Love America night Fireworks spectacular.
Roger Maynor of Bay Shore, the all-time leading winner in the
history of Riverhead Raceway, will come to the 2008 season as
the defending champion in the class. Among those out to dethrone
him are Mike Mujsce Sr., Kenny Hyde, Tom Kraft, Tom Graff, Tom
Ferrara, Paul Specht, Carl Baxter and the returning Ralph Tasso.
Aside from the Figure Eights on Saturday May 3rd, the curtain
will go up on the Riverhead Raceway season with a full card of
NASCAR Modified, Late Model, Charger, Blunderbust and Super Pro
Truck racing. Heats are at 4:30 pm and feature events are set
for 5:30 pm.
