It has been announced by Riverhead Raceway
Chief NASCAR Technical Inspector Walter Bonczyk that only
Johnson Chassis Inc. metric chassis front clips and parts have
been approved for the Charger and Super Pro Truck classes, with
limited use in the Blunderbust class as well. Competitors
in these divisions had expressed an interest in being allowed to
run the aftermarket parts for various reasons. The official
distributor will be O-K Chassis, a joint effort between Wayne
Okula and Greg Kleila.
O-K Chassis will offer spec parts and chassis from Johnson
Chassis Inc. out of North Carolina, to include fabricated front
clips for anyone running a metric chassis in the Charger and
Super Pro Truck divisions. Additionally, lower control arms and
trailing arms will be permitted for anyone running a metric
chassis in those two divisions, as well as the Blunderbusts.
These parts are designed with the intent to be stock replacement
parts. Okula plans to bring literature, as well as a control arm
and trailing arm to Riverhead this coming weekend for
competitors to see. He hopes to have a front clip at the track
to be looked at within the next two weeks.
