Doug Watson, driver of the #3 Blunderbust
out of the Coyote Racing stable, has announced that two new
sponsors have signed on to back his 2008 efforts at Riverhead
Raceway. Bi-County Salvage Corporation of Bay Shore and Little
Joe's Pizzeria of Central Islip will be joining Watson's
returning sponsors.
Watson heads into the 2008 season with
plenty of experience, having started in the Blunderbust class
late in 2000. He began running full-time in the division in
2001, and ran five full seasons before opting for a part-time
schedule in 2006 and 2007. In that time, he has recorded three
wins, 15 top five finishes and 46 top ten finishes. Watson has
finished in the top 10 in points three times, including a 3rd
place points finish in 2004.
"While the team will be running a limited
schedule in 2008, we expect to be competitive each and every
time the car hits the track," commented Watson. Watson himself
has dubbed 2008 an "R&D season," as it is one in which the team
has made a number of changes. Car owner Kim Watson has turned
over the position of crew chief to former Blunderbust and Super
Pro Truck competitor Bryan Sescila, and she will assume a
position on the crew, which has expanded to include Don Ayers
and Joe Sescila. Stanley Roberts will serve as the official cook
for the team, which also includes car chief Steve Williams,
Smokey Roberts and Jimmy Grimes. Returning sponsors include Over
the Hill Racing and Mike Hesh Auto Recycling.
Bi-County Salvage Corporation is located at
1 McAdam Street in Bay Shore. The company buys scrap metal and
cars, and also sells used auto parts. They can be reached by
phone at (631) 968-5700.
Little Joe's Pizzeria can be found on Calebs Path in Central
Islip. They offer pizza and a variety of Italian dishes, and
they deliver in the Central Islip/Brentwood area. Their phone
number is (631) 234-7277.Source:
