This Sunday, May
18th, East End Kart Racing will returns to Riverhead Raceway for
the third race of the 2008 season. The back gate will open
at 8:00 am, with a drivers' meeting at 9:30 am. The first round
of practice is scheduled to start at 10:00 am. Drivers are
reminded that they must have all of their safety equipment on
hand for inspection, or they will not be permitted to race.
For those who
haven't heard, John Thompson, better known to everyone as one of
the Turn 1 Cowboys, had a devastating fire in his garage last
Saturday. It was a total loss, and nothing could be saved. He
lost all his Go-Karts along with some others that were stored
in his garage. This Sunday as EEKR go-karters return to
Riverhead Raceway, there will be a collection being taken up to
help John and the others who lost their equipment. Any and all
donations are sure to be appreciated.
