The three H's - hazy, hot and humid - definitely made their
presence known this past weekend at Riverhead Raceway, as EEKR
go-karts took to the 1/5-mile oval. Because of the weather
conditions Acting President Dave Brigati and his
officials offered go-karters an option to make the day’s
schedule run faster. Club members were offered the opportunity
to give up one practice and heat races, instead running on
practice and drawing numbers for starting positions in their
mains, which would be extended by five laps .With the exception
of the Sr. Champ Over 35 class, others elected to run the
regular schedule in spite of the weather.
Even with the heat, there was a record crowd on hand for all
classes. It was a testament to the true competitive spirit of
the EEKR go-karters.
Important Reminder: This coming Saturday night, June
14th, is the annul go-karters exhibition at Riverhead Raceway.
Along with the regular Saturday night schedule, each class of
EEKR go-karters will be able to take a couple of laps around
Riverhead Raceway to show the race fans what go-karting is all
about here on Long Island. Please contact: Dave Brigati
(631-300-7111), Joe Orlando (631-404-7309) or Linda Solomito
(631-581-6549) and let them know if you will attend this go-kart
exhibition at Riverhead Raceway this Saturday night.
