Riverhead Raceway "I Love America" Fireworks Set for August
23rd
Barbara & Jim Cromarty of Riverhead Raceway have set this
Saturday August 23rd aside for the annual celebration of I Love
America night which will feature another spectacular Fireworks
display presented by Bay Fireworks. The NASCAR Whelen
All-American Series stock cars will be in action on Donaldsons
VW-Subaru night that also features a Mini-School Bus Demolition
Derby.
The August 23rd program will be the first of three remaining
NASCAR Modified point races on the 2008 slate with Bill Park of
Manorville, John Fortin of Holtsville and Howie Brode of East
Islip ranked among the top three in points going into action
August 16th. Joining the Modifieds are the Figure Eights, who
will race for the B. Sexton Site Development night trophy,
Blunderbusts and a Grand Enduro event that was added to the
schedule just weeks ago.
Additionally two other exciting family entertainment events
are planned for Saturday in the form of One-On-One Spectator
Drags and a wild Car Rollover Contest will also add to the fun.
The Fireworks display of course will take place during the
program when the sky is dark enough for another fantastic
performance by Long Island's own Bay Fireworks. The Mini School
Bus Demolition Derby will feature the likes of Michael "Cheesebox"
Rommeney, "Slim" Jim Donaldson, "Tiny" Tim Farrell and Bob
"Whiplash" Genovese.
Qualifying is set for 5:00 pm and feature racing will start
at 6:00 pm. Further information can be obtained by call
