Bigfoot to Highlight Labor Day Weekend
Monster Truck Extravaganza at Riverhead Raceway
After a one year hiatus, the car-crushing Monster Trucks will
make a triumphant return to Barbara & Jim Cromarty's Riverhead
Raceway for a Labor Day weekend doubleheader. The shows will
star the most well known name in Monster Trucks - Bigfoot - who
will lead a three-truck field into freestyle competition.
Bigfoot has not only thrilled Monster Truck fans across the
United States in performances at race tracks and county fairs,
but also has appeared in numerous Hollywood movie and television
productions. Scheduled to appear along with Bigfoot are Viper
and Thrasher and fans should note the popular Monster Truck
rides will also return to Riverhead Raceway on Labor Day
weekend.
Saturday evening August 30th will see the Chargers racing for
the JMB Construction night hardware, honoring their seasonal
sponsor. The NASCAR Modifieds, Blunderbusts and Super Pro Trucks
will join them.
After competing in three Blindfolded Taxi Cab races in 2008,
the drivers will shed the blindfold and a Taxi Cab Demolition
Derby will complete the Saturday night program. Action on
Saturday will find qualifying heats at 5:00 pm and feature
racing will start at 6:00 pm.
Sunday August 31st will find Bigfoot & friends returning for
a matinee performance and joined by the Legends race cars, a Car
Rollover Contest and various Enduro races during the 12:30 pm
show. In the event of rain the Sunday show only has a rain date
of Monday September 1st.
