Election ’08 Hits Mountain Speedway with a Roller Derby Race
This October, the Democrats and Republicans
will battle in a format that’s a bit unorthodox to even the most
grizzled of politicians. The two parties will put on their
helmets and take on St. Johns, Pennsylvania’s third-mile
Mountain Speedway in a race car roller derby on Saturday,
October 25 in conjunction with the NELMA Late Model Challenge.
The popular roller derby format is known
for its rough and tough nature, just as politics and racing are.
Putting the three together is a recipe for one exciting event.
Already there is talk between the two
camps. The Republicans are billing themselves as mavericks with
a track record that will push them to the checkers. The
Democrats, who have been out of the oval office for eight years,
are hoping to ride the “Road to Change” to take them to victory
lane.
The Election ’08 Roller Derby Race will be
part of a day of thrilling auto racing excitement. They will
join the Late Models for their 100-lap NELMA Late Model
Challenge, the Legends cars for their Fall Classic, and the Pro
Truck Memorial. For more information visit
