Race fans who are fearing withdrawal now that the traditional
Northeast racing season has come to a close with the completion
of the Turkey Derby can take comfort in the fact that Long
Island Need for Speed will be on air all winter, bringing
the season's biggest and best racing events right into their
living rooms. This Friday, December 5th, the offseason will kick
off with a review of the 2008 season, including Modifieds at
Riverhead Raceway and Mountain Speedway, as well as dirt
Modifieds from Pennsylvania.
The excitement doesn't stop there, as the show has a
jam-packed schedule for the entire month of December and well
into January. On December 12th, the show will feature heat races
from the North-South Shootout, while the race's main event will
be covered in the December 19th show. On December 26th, Long
Island Need for Speed will bring viewers the best wrecks and
flips of the 2008 season in Modified and Sprint competition.
Looking forward to the new year, the show will highlight Turkey
Derby action on January 2nd. Then on January 9th, it will bring
viewers action from the Rocktober dirt race at New Egypt.
Long Island Need for Speed airs at 8 p.m. on Fridays
on Woodbury Cablevision channel 115.
