For the sixth year, Long Islands' FOUR America Racing team will
return to do battle inside Boardwalk Hall for the Gamblers
Classic Championship. “The Jeffer” Jeff Heotzler will be in the
teams re bodied, Mike Sparta Trucking sponsored #FOUR America TQ
midget, with Jeff Heotzler Jr. driving the International Truck
Parts and Equipment Wholesale sponsored #4 America 600 Micro
Sprint. Each year, the team has chosen a charity to race for,
however, this years will be a little different. This year, their
asking that each team running the famous Gamblers Classic in all
divisions and the fans as well to bring with them a non
perishable breakfast food item to be donated to Sister Jeans
Soup Kitchen in Atlantic City.
A former casino chef, Sister Jean Webster (They call her
“Sister Jean or “Saint Jean” or the "Mother Teresa of Jersey”)
found her calling over 20 years ago when she saw a homeless man
rummaging through a garbage can in search of food. “I saw a man
eating out of a garbage can when I was on my way to work at the
Playboy Casino. I took him to Pizza King and told them to give
him whatever he wanted. Then I gave him some more later at my
home,” she said. She didn't stop there. With her own money,
Webster fed up to 35 people a day out of her home.
Now she runs a soup kitchen that feeds up to 600 hungry and
homeless people a day with hot meals at the First Presbyterian
Church in Atlantic City. Sister Jean and her staff prefer to
call this gathering time “The House of Happiness”. No one is
turned away and there are no paid employees. Sister Jean offers
counseling and a program designed in conjunction with Joseph
House for transitional housing. Four Americas' PR director
Michael Sweet said when he first heard of Sister Jeans Soup
Kitchen, it seemed like a natural fit. 'We all love the high
intensity this event brings to each of us, with the lights,
sounds and action of Atlantic City. Knowing how the racing
community gives so much to those in need, what a great way to
start the weekend by bringing a non perishable breakfast food
item with them to be donated to Sister Jeans Soup kitchen'.
Sister Debbie, who will be in charge Friday, Jan 16th at the
kitchen, said packaged items like coffee, tea, non-dairy
creamer, grits, cereal, sugar, oatmeal, pancake mix, or other
canned or packaged goods, etc. will be gratefully appreciated
and accepted. "We'll put it to good use," said Sister Debbie,
who admits to not knowing much about racing. The Jr. Jeffer
said, "Lets give them breakfast on us!" Fans and racers who
would like to bring the items to the kitchen can do so Friday
morning, Jan.16th between 7 and 8 AM where you will be greeted
by Jeff Heotzler Jr. and the staff at Sister Jeans Kitchen. It
is located at 1013 Pacific Ave., Atlantic City, NJ 08401, right
across from the Taj Majal Casino. Also, Jeff Heotzler Jr will be
accepting items at the teams trailer all weekend. Any questions
