The long-awaited date for the first R.A.C.E. (Race and
Collect Earnings) driver fund fundraiser is nearly upon us. The
fundraiser is set for this coming Saturday, January 24th. The
event, a bowling party/Chinese auction, will begin at 8:30 p.m.
at East Islip Lanes. Tickets are $20 each, and include two games
of bowling and auction tickets. For further information or to

Many race teams and business have donated items for the
auction, and there will be a wide array of baskets and other
goodies for participants to choose from. Additional auction
tickets will be sold during the fundraiser. A 50/50 raffle will
also be held.
The driver fund will benefit those in the Modified, Late
Model, Charger, Blunderbust, Figure 8, and Super Pro Truck
classes at the conclusion of the 2009 season. Among those
scheduled to attend the event are many of the 2008 champions, as
well as numerous other competitors, crew members, and racing
fans. More than 25 drivers have purchased tickets.
