Events from the Fourth Annual Whelen Geoff Bodine Bobsled
Challenge will air on SPEED this Sunday, Jan. 25, from 4-6 p.m.
The Whelen Geoff Bodine Bobsled Challenge, which took place
Jan. 2-4 Lake Placid, N.Y., featured NASCAR and NHRA drivers
competing at the Olympic Sports Complex, site of the 1932 and
1980 Winter Olympics.
SPEED’s Sunday programming will showcase Race 2 of the
two-segment competition, which pitted NASCAR and NHRA drivers
against each other in an elimination competition. Current
drivers Todd Bodine, Joey Logano and Boris Said represented
NASCAR along with former driver – and founder of the event –
Geoff Bodine.
The show was originally scheduled to air from 2-4 p.m. on
Sunday, but has been moved back two hours to the 4-6 p.m. time
slot following the network’s coverage of the Rolex 24 at
Daytona. Race 1, the first segment of the Bodine Bobsled
Challenge that determined an overall winner based solely on
time, aired on Jan. 18.
The Bodine Bobsled Challenge was established to raise money
for the Bo-Dyn Bobsled Project, which was started in 1992 by
Geoff Bodine. The Bo-Dyn Bobsled Project has built American-made
bobsleds for United States athletes competing in the World Cup,
World Championships and Olympic Winter Games. Funds raised from
the Bodine Bobsled Challenge go directly to this project.
