In the one of the longest running marketing partnerships in
short track racing in the country, Barbara and Jim Cromarty of
Riverhead Raceway and Al Frazer of Boening Brothers Distributors
announced today that Miller Lite would mark their 25th
anniversary with the historic quarter mile oval in 2009.
In their silver anniversary with Riverhead Raceway, Miller
Lite returns as a seasonal sponsor for the NASCAR Modifieds,
Figure Eights and Demolition Derby divisions. No less that three
Miller Lite nights are scheduled during the 2009 to mark this
very special season.
Al Frazer, director of marketing for Miller Lite and Boening
Brothers noted, "Right from that very first season back in 1985
we felt our relationship with the Cromarty family and the
wonderful racers of Riverhead Raceway would be an enduring one
and we are very proud and pleased to mark 25 years this season."
Barbara and Jim Cromarty commented, "There are very few
sponsors in professional sports that are like the Boening
family. We are very grateful to Al Frazer and Miller Lite and
really appreciate this long and lasting partnership with a great
bunch of terrific people."
The first Miller Lite night will fall on Riverhead Raceway's
annual Independence Day spectacular, which this year will
feature the "Biggest Ever" Fireworks display in the rich 58-year
history of the track. The NASCAR Modifieds will race 50 laps for
the Cromarty Cup and a Police Car Demolition Derby will bring
the night to a smashing conclusion.
A Full Size School Bus Demolition Derby will highlight the
second Miller Lite night of 2009 on August 29th, a night that
will also feature the third and final 50-lap, double point race
for the NASCAR Modifieds along with a full slate of NASCAR
Whelen All-American Series action.
Last but not least is the third Miller Lite night that will
take place on the National Demolition Derby Championship night
Saturday September 19th. A Blindfolded Taxicab Race and extra
distance races for the Figure Eights, Chargers, Blunderbusts and
Super Pro Trucks will also be presented.
The 25th year of the Riverhead Raceway and Miller Lite
marketing partnership will get the green flag Saturday evening
May 2nd at 6:00 pm with a full six division show on the card.
