This coming Saturday, March 21, the 2008
Figure Eight champion Roger Maynor will top the list of those
being honored at the annual SAFER awards banquet. The event will
be held from 8 p.m. until 1 a.m. at the Smithtown Landing
Country Club. Tickets are $65 each and include a five-hour open
bar, hot and cold buffet, and DJ and dancing. Tickets will be
available at the door, but anyone interested in attending should
contact Joe Saraceno at (631) 981-0569 after 6 p.m. to reserve
seating.
In addition to Roger Maynor, SAFER will
recognize the drivers making up the rest of the top ten in
points for the 2008 season. Numerous special awards will be
given out, including Rookie of the Year. The night will also
include the 2008 SAFER Hall of Fame induction.
The event is always a hit among SAFER
members, and is open to anyone in the racing community who
wishes to attend and share in the celebration.
