In a release issued by Bethel Motor Speedway today, it was
announced that Legends races for the 2009 season will feature an
extended number of laps, as well as an expanded purse. All
regular season Legends events will include 12-lap heat races, as
well as 25-lap features. Longer distance features may be
approved once the season starts. Thanks to the generosity of
division sponsor McGraw Moving of Upper Saddle River, New
Jersey, Legends races at Bethel Motor Speedway will pay $500 to
win. The Legends schedule at Bethel has only one direct conflict
with the schedule at Riverhead Raceway, something that may
enable drivers to race nearly the entire season at both of the
tracks simultaneously.
Bethel Motor Speedway is celebrating its first full season in
operation since being taken over by new owners during 2008. The
track opened for a shortened season that began in August of
2008, but has released a full schedule of events for the 2009
season. Legends and Bandolero races are sanctioned by INEX.
McGraw Moving, in an attempt to help the track grow for both the
present and the future, will allow all Bandolero drivers to race
without having to pay a pit entry fee for the 2009 season as
well.
One of the crown jewels in Bethel’s 2009 schedule is the
LegendStock 2009 race. The inaugural LegendStock race was held
in 2008, with drivers from all over the Northeast and beyond
making the trek to compete for the guitar-shaped trophies and
bragging rights. Presently, LegendStock 2009 has a guaranteed
$3,000 total purse, with $1,500 going to the winner of the
event. LegendStock 2009 will be held on August 15th. Full
details on the event are available at
www.legendstock2009.com.
The Legends season at Bethel Motor Speedway gets underway on
Saturday, April 18th. The complete schedule is available at
